Rivalries
Layton Christian has no rivalry, and saying so is more honest than inventing one. Its most-played opponent is Duchesne — 22 meetings, Duchesne leading 19-3 — but Layton to Duchesne is about a hundred miles and the series is purely a product of shared 1A North alignment. Every other LCA series is under twenty games and equally alignment-driven.
As a 2A independent, LCA now schedules almost nothing from its former cohort. Its 2026 slate is Viewmont, South Summit, Pleasant Grove, Payson, Maple Mountain, Mater Academy East Las Vegas and Sutter — large in-state schools and out-of-state opponents, with only South Summit carrying over. There is no annual opponent, no neighbor and no continuity for a rivalry to rest on.
