How it started
Granger is Kearns' most-played opponent by a wide margin and both are west-side schools in the same 5A region. Deseret framed the 2023 Region 4 formation as a west-side reunion, quoting West Jordan's Ron Halbert: "Being that our schools are so close in proximity and similar in demographics it will be fun with a lot of these kids that know each other." That is proximity language, not rivalry language, and we are not upgrading it.
The games that made it
Granger leads 36-20. Worth saying plainly: the documented west-side rivalries are Granger-Hunter and Hunter-Cyprus, and Kearns is in neither. Kearns may simply not have a claimed rival.
Where it stands
